Biography
İpek Samsa graduated in law from Istanbul Bilgi University and holds a master’s degree in Economic Law. İpek’s work covers litigation and enforcement proceedings, legal advice, drafting and reviewing contracts, and conducting hearings and court proceedings.
At several law firms, İpek has run litigation, drafted pleadings, attended hearings, conducted enforcement proceedings, prepared legal opinions and briefing notes and managed communication with clients. İpek also has experience of company formations, Trade Registry and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce filings, attachment and eviction proceedings, and drafting and revising contracts.
In maritime law, İpek has worked on ship arrests, ship sale and purchase transactions and closings, general average, harbour master procedures and the review of sale and purchase contracts and documents, and has assisted with applications to the Insurance Arbitration Commission and with a range of commercial transactions.
İpek speaks advanced English, holds TOEFL and IELTS certificates and can act as a sworn translator from English into Turkish and from Turkish into English, with beginner-level Spanish.
